Mobiflexi ingredients: seven compounds, seven trial doses

With supplements the list is never the problem; the quantity is. Here are all seven active compounds in Mobiflexi with their doses and the reason each branded raw material was chosen over the cheaper commodity version on the wholesale catalogue.

Why branded raw materials and not commodity extracts

AprèsFlex, Meriva and UC-II are proprietary ingredients with their own human trials, their own manufacturing specification and a certificate per batch. A generic curcumin costs the formulator a fraction of Meriva and delivers perhaps a tenth of it into the bloodstream. On a label, both read as curcumin.

That single fact explains almost the whole price gap between a £7 bottle off a Holland & Barrett shelf and this one. If you have a competitor's label to hand, compare milligrams per full daily dose — not the number of ingredients listed, and not the word 'complex' doing a lot of quiet work in a proprietary blend.

Manufacture and testing

Made in the EU in GMP-certified facilities, with each batch sent to an independent laboratory for heavy metals and microbiology. That matters more for glucosamine than for most ingredients: shellfish-derived raw material is the classic route for cadmium and lead into a joint supplement, and it is the first thing a proper COA reports.

The certificate of analysis for your batch is available on request — email customer service with the batch number stamped on the base of the bottle, and it should reach you in a few working days. A supplier that hesitates over that is telling you something.

Ingredients and doses

  • AprèsFlex® Boswellia serrata — 400 mg. Standardised to 65% boswellic acids. In the randomised data the relief signal showed up on day seven, which makes it the fastest-acting thing here and the reason anyone notices anything before week four. A branded extract with batch documentation, not bark powder of unknown acid content.
  • Meriva® Curcumin (phytosome) — 250 mg. Curcumin bound to phospholipids, giving roughly 29 times the plasma availability of ordinary extract. Plain curcumin is largely an expensive colouring; the phytosome does the job piperine is usually recruited for, more gently on the stomach.
  • Glucosamine sulphate — 1500 mg. The full daily dose from the clinical literature, in the sulphate form used in the European trials rather than the hydrochloride of some American ones — a distinction that matters, since most negative findings, including the NIH-funded GAIT trial, involved formulations that are not directly comparable. Sulphate salts also carry the sulphur the cartilage matrix needs.
  • Chondroitin sulphate — 1200 mg. Pairs with glucosamine rather than repeating it: glucosamine supplies the material, chondroitin holds the water that keeps the tissue compressible. The combination is better supported in the literature than either compound alone — which is also where the GAIT subgroup analysis pointed.
  • Hyaluronic acid — 80 mg. The viscous component of synovial fluid. Taken by mouth it works far more slowly than a clinic injection — and without the eighteen-week waiting list that now precedes most of those. Reports of movement feeling smooth instead of grinding come from this line.
  • UC-II® undenatured type-II collagen — 40 mg. A different mechanism entirely: oral tolerance. Intact type-II collagen trains the immune system to stop attacking cartilage in gut-associated lymphoid tissue, so the dose is deliberately tiny. 40 mg is the studied figure; more adds nothing, because this is not about supplying building blocks.
  • BioPerine® (piperine) — 5 mg. Raises the absorption rate of several of the other compounds. A very small quantity with an outsize effect on bioavailability, and the sensible companion to a formula built around a phytosome.

Common questions about Mobiflexi

How many capsules are in a bottle?
Thirty, which is exactly one month at the recommended one-a-day intake. There is no loading phase and no split dose, so the bottle is the calendar and you can tell how far through a course you are by counting what is left.
Is 1500 mg of glucosamine too much for a small adult?
No. Adult glucosamine dosing in the trials is not weight-adjusted, and 1500 mg a day is the standard figure across the European studies. Somebody who finds it uncomfortable can open the capsule, split the powder and build up over a week.
Why is there no vitamin D in it?
A deliberate omission. Vitamin D belongs in the year-round British baseline at 10 micrograms, and people already take it separately at their own dose. Adding it here would mean either an underdosed token or a bottle that has to be taken twice a day. Mobiflexi sticks to joint tissue and leaves the bones to another tablet.
Does Mobiflexi contain shellfish?
Glucosamine sulphate is conventionally made from crustacean shells, and this one should be treated as potentially containing them. A crustacean allergy is the one genuine reason to check before the first capsule: read the bottle declaration or email the service address and ask about the source for your batch.
Why is the UC-II collagen dose so small?
Because 40 mg is not meant to be nutrition. Undenatured type-II collagen works by teaching the immune system not to react to it, a mechanism that saturates at a very small quantity. Ten-gram collagen powders work on an entirely different principle — amino acid supply — which is why the two are complementary rather than competitive.
